Made of black walnut with a blonde shellac finish. This book shelf was inspired by a bookshelf that Mr. Rathbun saw during his travels. He wanted it to blend with the other furniture I have built for him, and knowing his love for his neighborhood, St. Johns, I drew further inspiration from the St. Johns bridge for the spires.
Made of hickory and mahogany with garnet shellac. The Hucal’s recently upgraded to a new plasma screen television and so no longer had need for their large entertainment center. They wanted something that was a little more modern, a lot smaller, and elegant. So I designed this stand to fit beneath their new television and hold their other entertainment accessories.
Made of mahogany with a blonde shellac. The Mittlemen Jewish Community Center commisioned me to make this Menorah. It stands about 5-1/2 fet tall and was built to be a mitzvah menorah (same idea as a giving tree).
Made of cherry with blonde shellac finish. Mrs. Peddicord wanted something that could stand next to the door and not only hold the winter coats but also her keys and purse. So I turn a bowl to fit half way up. A perfect receptacle for all that pocket detritus.
Made of Black walnut with a blonde shellac finish. Modeled off a Morrison style plant stand that Mrs. Peddicord had found in an old catalog. I shrunk it down so it would fit under a low window, and added a lower shelf for some extra storage.
Made of black walnut with blonde shellac finish. Mr. Rathbun came to me with a picture of a Morrison style server. He wanted it slightly different, with drawers instead of a cupboard. In addition I tapered the legs and made the bottom shelf solid instead of slats.
Made of fir with boiled linseed oil and beeswax finish. Actually this is my bed. I designed it so that t could be disassembled if needed with pegs on the through tenons. There are slats so no box spring necessary.
Made of red oak with boiled linseed oil and beeswax finish. I modeled the carvings on this chest after some that I found in a book of antique European furniture. I designed the chest to look mission, with through tenons and square legs.
Made of White oak with blonde shellac finish. The height of this plant stand was decided by the piece of wood I turned the column from. It happened to be that long when I found it and could not bear to cut it. The feet were inspired by a ballerina’s legs.
Made of Hard Maple with antique cherry stain and semi-gloss polyurethane finish. These two matching book cases were built to fit into an odd nock in Dr. Hays’ condominium. The space was not being utilized, now its home to her books.
Made of hemlock and cedar, stained with black walnut, and finished with semi-gloss polyurethane. This armoire was designed as an entertainment center. It houses the Peddicord’s television, as well as their books and movies. When wanted it closes up to provide a more charming front.
